New Hampshire Apartments is a multifamily residential development in Los Angeles for which Engineous Group Inc. (EGI) provided full mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering design. With more than 35 years of experience serving Los Angeles and Southern California, our Pasadena-based team delivered coordinated systems designed for occupant comfort, code compliance, and long-term operating efficiency in a dense urban setting.
Project Overview
New Hampshire Apartments adds much-needed housing to Los Angeles, combining residential units with the building services that make modern multifamily living reliable and efficient. EGI was engaged to design the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems that support the residences and common areas. Our role was to translate the architectural vision into fully engineered, permit-ready MEP documents that meet California and City of Los Angeles requirements while remaining practical to build and maintain.
MEP Scope
EGI provided the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering relevant to Los Angeles multifamily construction:
- Mechanical (HVAC): Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning for dwelling units and common areas, with equipment selection and ventilation strategies suited to the local climate.
- Electrical: Service and distribution, unit metering, lighting, and power for residential and shared spaces, coordinated with the utility and life-safety requirements.
- Plumbing: Domestic hot and cold water, sanitary waste and vent, and, where applicable, gas systems sized for multifamily occupancy and water-efficiency goals.
Engineering Approach
Urban infill housing in Los Angeles demands tight coordination across disciplines and a thorough understanding of the local approval process. EGI coordinated the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems with the architectural and structural design to resolve conflicts early and make efficient use of limited space. Our documents were prepared for California Title 24 energy compliance and to move smoothly through LADBS plan check. We also accounted for California seismic requirements in equipment anchorage and system routing, and we emphasized energy-efficient design choices that reduce long-term operating costs for owners and residents alike.
MEP Engineering Across Los Angeles
